In my v3.6 WiX.chm, the schema documentation for Directory/@ComponentGuidGenerationSeed says, "once a directory is assigned a Component Guid Generation Seed the value must not change until the directory name changes." Based on an email from Rob I think that last part should say "directory path" instead of "directory name". I assume it's hashing the whole path, not just the name of the directory.
