Cannot install Wix37.exe to Windows 7 64-bit platform without seeing error. #3874

Problem installing Wix37.exe to Windows 7 64-bit platform. The message from the UI only display "Error, Retry". I am not sure what is the problem. My system have Wix 3.6, VS2010, VS2012 installed.

This log start the capture of wix37.exe process when I runs it and then I stopped the capture after the "Failed. Try Again?" displayed in wix37.exe. The *.csv is the smallest size of 8 megabytes and the PML output is 32 megabytes (I did not attach the file). If you need other file formats, please let me know.

I use Process Monitor v 3.03 to capture the wix37.exe process.
I am including the log for your analysis.

I'm having a problem installing WiX37 on a Win7 Pro SP1 box with VS 2012 installed. It starts up but does not display the installer wizard.

I see that it has created a temporary folder
\AppData\Local\Temp{963ac4b4-a882-4471-8db9-c4adc7b42dc4}.ba4 which contains the following files:
mbahost.dll
mbapreq.dll
mbapreq.png
mbapreq.thm
BootstrapperCore.dll

The contents of the .ba* folder seem to vary with some instances conta mbapreq.dll, mbahost.dll, BootstrapperCore.dll and others having just the mbahost.dll.

This is a mysterious bug that we've been trying to track down for a while. Could you run Process Monitor and capture all of the changes happening to "C:\ProgramData\Package Cache" and "C:\Users\BRIAN_~1\AppData\Local\Temp{963ac4b4-a882-4471-8db9-c4adc7b42dc4}" file paths plus the wix37.exe process on this machine? A file is getting deleted out from under us and I don't know how. The Process Monitor log should show us what is going wrong.

I'm having the same issue as Sean, though in both our cases the log is different from the original poster's; ours fails to verify the packages. I'm having the issue on an XP machine. Attached the log file.

I went back to the system that gives me the error; The message: "Failed. Try Again?"

After trying to install on two other systems, it did not have problem installing. I conclude the first system I was installing have some issue. I am closing this ticket.
