The MediaTemplate appears to create a much larger final MSI than the same exact code using Media instead. I have set CompressionLevel='high' & EmbedCab='yes' in both scenarios. The MSI I'm testing with comes in at 75MB using Media and 95MB using MediaTemplate. I can only assume the impact would get worse with larger projects.

7-Zip indicated that the Media cab's compression method was LZX while the MediaTemplate cab's compression method showed MSZip.
