Came across an issue where an IT backup restored the wrong wixpdb folder along side our MSIs. (we keep them in a subfolder).
We were able to successfully create pure-wix based patches but the MSPs would fail to install against the RTM install because of a bad target ProductCode in the MSP. This was due to the fact that this information is pulled from the WixPdb and NOT the RTM MSI. This mismatch of files needs to be validated during the melt process since it is the first line in the generation of patches.
