The native version resource of the tools does not match the installer version.

The version of most tool binaries in WiX is major.minor.build.0. To match the build format introduced in WiX v3.10 it should be major.minor.maintenance.build.

this issue does apply to both:

• they payload files to be deployed
• the attributes of the installer, itself

regarding the second item: even though the wix 3.10 installer uses a "display version" of "3.10.0.2103" it has an internal "productversion" of "3.10.2103".

File versions are correct now in v4 but MSI versions are placing the build number in the fourth part (which, of course, won't work for major upgrades).
